Mentoring
June 8, 2012
Here at Gallop to Success, older kids who have been with us for years are encouraged to earn the responsibility of mentoring our new participants; they form positive friendships based on a shared love of horses as well as shared farm chores. Participants of all ages develop friendships with their peers as well as the carefully selected group of horses they work with so closely each day.
At the end of the program, equine dreams of the farm’s horses, such as the large Brambles, the mischievous Whisk, the good boy Sonny, the pretty Penny pony, the reliable Midnight, the gentle giant Moko, and the ever changing Thunder Red remain with the participants even after they have left the farm, as well as the values they have learned here.
